Webstore: pre sign up - checklist

The following documentation outlines all the items you need to be aware of before signing up for a Webstore account.

Domain name

You will need to provide us with a valid domain name that you intend to use for your Webstore site. If you do not have one, you can purchase one from any of many domain name registrars. Although we don't endorse any of these we can point you towards a few of the most popular ones:

Tip: Try to register your domain name for at lease five years.

Please note: multiple domain names sharing one Webstore site are not recommended as they can have a detrimental effect on search engine page ranking results.

E-merchant account

To handle credit card payments you will need to have a current e-merchant account. Again we can not endorse any but we can point you towards some of the most popular ones:

Supplied Artwork

Any artwork that you require to be used on your site will need to be provided in one of the following formats; .jpg, .gif, .png, .psd, .pdf (other formats can be used but he first three are preferable)

If you have a copy of your company logo in one of the preferable formats you can use the control panel to re size it to fit your Webstore site. The average size for a company logo is around 300 pixels wide by 90 pixels height.

Please note: 'web ready' artwork will always render to 72dpi where as Photoshop files (.psd) will tend to be much larger. Artwork supplied for manipulation will need to be provided in at least 300dpi for best quality.

Product data and images

If you are selling products on your site, it would save time to think about what products you are going to sell. We will provide where available, product images to customers who have the necessary licencing agreement with the suppliers of the stock images. Additional images can be uploaded to your site either by the control panel or via FTP. Please contact us if you have a large number of stock images as we can preload them for you.

Order Processing

You will need to let us know how you intend to process your completed orders as this may involve some bespoke development.

legal documentation

You will need to supply any legal documentation that you wish to display on your site
(terms and conditions) in an editable format so that they can be uploaded from the control panel - alternatively you can use and edit one of our templates.

Terms and conditions

Don't forget to read our terms and conditions and make sure your site will comply!
